Director's Message

I am so humbled when I look back at the progress that STEP has made in the last year. Since its inception in November 2020, STEP has worked with 15 plus schools in three different states, impacting more than 1500 students. This wouldn’t have been possible without any of your support and encouragement, and for that, I will always be grateful to every one of you. With the onset of the second wave of corona in 2021, we were unable to carry out most of our physical work with the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government. Amid this confusion and helplessness, I along with my mentor Amit Kumar came up with the idea of an online Fellowship that would train underserved girls with 21st-century work skills. This gave birth to the STEP Fellowship, a six months long merit-and-means employability program. After two months of fundraising, the first batch kicked off their session in September 2021. After six months of intense training and mentorship from the best of faculty from all over the world, they are finally graduating! It feels so surreal to finally see an idea germinate into something so tangible and I still have to pinch myself to see if this is happening. Congratulations Class of 2022! You make me so proud and happy! You are STEP’s ambassadors and you always will be. Go set the world on fire! I would like to thank all our donors and sponsors, without whom the STEP Fellowship would only have remained an idea. Thank you for believing in me and the vision that we had, and so generously contributing towards its success. I would also like to thank all our faculty and mentors who so willingly went out of their call of duty to teach our Fellows and make them who they are today. We will always be indebted to you. And thank you to all our supporters and well-wishers who kept cheering for us, both in our highs and lows. Never stop cheering for us
